Latest Updates from Our Project:

Stretch Goal #2 Hit! Full Color Print!
over 1 year ago – Mon, Aug 15, 2022 at 04:12:08 PM

Hey everyone!

We are stoked to announce that over the weekend that we went above our $2,000 goal for the full color print. Next up is more content that will allow for a completely different playthrough on replay, expanding the content of the zine to the higher end of expected page count. We're already pretty close and couldn't be more excited.

Thank you all for making this possible!

Weekly Recap #2
over 1 year ago – Sat, Aug 13, 2022 at 06:32:51 PM

Hey everyone!

This week has been quiet mostly as we keep our noses to the grindstone and working. The campaign is almost 3/4ths of the way to 100 backers, we are closing in on our SECOND stretch goal, and we've been seeing Fungiable get love on some podcasts, twitter, and other forums. We are nothing but thankful for everyone's contributions and can't wait to destroy that second stretch goal.

Fortunately, we've received nothing but good news about some items in the SPOR Affiliate Deluxe tier. We're taking and tweaking the art of the challenge coin to have the fungal accents stand out a bit more and seeing how it looks on some other material options. We'd love to hear any feedback regarding this, so please chime in!

The other good news there? The handcrafted postconsumer paper that Leo from L.F. OSR has sourced out looks amazing with the print on it. Don't believe me? Check it out yourself!

The paper takes the ink in quite a unique and vibrant way. It almost resembles a tattoo or something similar when against the fibrous nature of the paper, which is very cool. By using this paper choice, each of the covers will differ from each other with small inclusions or markings and once again, it is about the most eco-friendly option possible. We will have further images of the complete cover soon now that we know it works and we can commit to a full design. If you've been tempted to go with the higher tier, there are only 16 remaining, so I wouldn't hesitate on that choice too long.

Once again, thank you to everybody who has backed so far for making this project possible and we look forward to rolling out more updates as they come! Make sure to share this Kickstarter with people you think might take an interest in it, go ahead and maybe shout it out on social media. That word of mouth is vital and will only make this project better as our stretch funds grow.

Until next update,

-Thom

Under The Autumn Strangely by Graham Gentz
Under The Autumn Strangely by Graham Gentz

"Under the Autumn Strangely” is a Shared-GM Storytelling Game of Pastoral Horror in a Land that Never Was, inspired by “Over the Garden Wall”. The experience focuses on mood and tone, drawing on the melancholy of rustic farmland and the romantic oddness of a dusty road through a dark wood, wound in a blanket of anachronistic old Americana. The game is written and designed by Graham Gentz, designer of “Old Gods of Media”, with stunning cover and interior at by Cenza Della Donna.

Ball of the Wild: A Drag-Inspired TTRPG Zine by Nat Mesnard

In Ball of the Wild, you and your gorgeous, talented, and totally gag-worthy friends will collaboratively tell the story of animals who dress up as other animals. Ball of the Wild is a game where we dress up, come out, and proudly display the true selves who are revealed when we put on a costume. Inspired by drag performance, reality TV, queer joy, and a love of animals and the natural world, this ZINE QUEST 4 project is a masquerade of becoming!

Worldlings: Tales of Tiny Gods by Jim Hall
Worldlings: Tales of Tiny Gods by Jim Hall

"Worldlings" is a bestiary of tiny animistic gods with a built-in mystery generator that gives you an adorable fable-of-the-week style game. Alternatively, use it to add folklore and interest to those remote villages your party visits. Supported systems are Cairn, Into the Odd, and 5e.

Stretch Goal #1 Hit, Stretch Goal #2 not far off in the distance and an update from L.F. OSR!
over 1 year ago – Tue, Aug 09, 2022 at 05:53:13 PM

Hey everybody!

First, thank you so much for supporting Fungiable and pushing it to its first stretch goal. We're about to tread into #2, which means full color interior, which is HUGE. ORB and Andy will definitely make full use of that to provide the most enjoyable experience possible. What else is new? The challenge coin sketches are off to the production company for a virtual mockup, so that will be ready to tease soon and Leo of L.F. OSR took a trip down to the local papermill and did some browsing around for samples to experiment on. In his own words, "I'll have much cooler things to show soon", but I can't help to think that what he has shared is nothing but cool!

A papermill producing artisanal paper.
A trip to the local papermill!

One thing that he found that really piqued both of our curiosities in its application is, for lack of a better word, post-post consumer paper.

A speckled, almost confetti-cake like paper with some readable print hidden in it.
A unique paper specimen!

"This paper is handcrafted one sheet at a time- blending 100% recycled fibers with the junk mail collected by our employees. The shredded junk mail is added to our pulper of post consumer and is pulped for a short period that allows the pictures, words and numbers from the junk mail to create a confetti-like effect in this fun tree-free paper. You can read bits of words! The amazing part is when you hold this paper up to the light you will see all of the embedded shreds of junk mail. This is truly 100% post consumer... "

Described by Leo as having "An incredibly textured feel, you can sense the fibers of post consumer decay within it". I can't help but think how incredibly well that would fit our goal of being eco friendly and also making each limited run copy truly unique. More experimenting needs to be done before we come to any conclusions, though!

Thank you all again for your support and we look forward to bringing you more updates!

Weekly Recap #1
over 1 year ago – Sat, Aug 06, 2022 at 05:52:55 PM

Hello all!

So, for our weekly recap. Fungiable has funded. That is outstanding and you all are awesome. We are still growing too, and as our budget grows, there come some stretch goals. These are mostly going to be internal and not going to be anything cumbersome like shirts, stickers, posters or the likes. To guarantee that you get the best possible experience, I am trying to limit the number of moving parts that could delay production. Expect the following in the upcoming week: more gameplay related content, news about the L.F. OSR offset print run, and hopefully the digital proof of the challenge coin.

The Stretch Goals

$1,500: More written content for replayability and more illustrations throughout the zine.

$2,000: Full color interior! Let the wonderfully eerie art of ORB and Andy Duvall (Layout on the Fungus Crew).

$2,500: More written content and art funds.

$3,000: The best options available for the printed zine. Better quality paper, the best-looking cover options, the works. Perhaps some spot UV, even. We’ll make it look better than good.

$3,500+: The Fungus Crew gets paid more. Without their help, skills and consultation, this campaign would be a pipedream. They deserve it.

Please share the link to this campaign, there are no fancy advertisements being run for Fungiable, it has been relying purely on word of mouth and interest. This is truly what makes it grow and get noticed. So please reach out and share it with friends, groups and social media. It helps more than you think.

Projects You Should Check Out

Sundered Sundries is an expansion in four parts for the All Must Bow system-agnostic cosmic-horror setting.

The company town of Bereleah is jam-packed with explorable locations, vying factions, and realistic characters, while the horror filled depths of the mine call out with their own dark rewards.

Honey Hex

Take on the role of a Royal Messenger, tasked with delivering a supply of honey from your sovereign to the ruler of a friendly queendom. Along the way, explore this unknown-to-you territory, gathering information and new nectars and pollens for your home. But beware: not every queendom is as easy to navigate as your home realm, and may harbor dangers beyond your imagination...

Borne From Ashes: Frontier Battles

The world was shattered in cataclysm. Traces of it remain but they are whispers, shadows. Humanity has risen out of the darkness, and in its place a group of bickering city states have banded together in a loose alliance. Elite warriors known as Praetorians are sent out to explore the edges of the known world. It is there, on the Frontier, that city states clash and battle is waged.
